acpi-support-base software package provides scripts for handling base ACPI events such as the power button, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install acpi-support-base
acpi-support-base is installed in your system.
Make ensure the acpi-support-base package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep acpi-support-base *
